Acquisition Adds Los Angeles Facility, Enhancing Ranger Spacecraft Agility for National Security, Civil Science, and Commercial Missions.
Quantum Space, dedicated to transforming critical national defense and space infrastructure missions via its highly maneuverable Ranger spacecraft, announced today the acquisition of Phase Four’s multi-mode propulsion assets, a breakthrough technology that allows a single system to operate in both chemical (high thrust) and electric (high efficiency) modes. This strategic acquisition, which also includes a state-of-the-art integration and test facility in Los Angeles, strengthens Quantum Space’s ability to deliver highly maneuverable, persistent, and cost-efficient platforms for its national security, civil, and commercial customers, enabling missions from low-Earth orbit (LEO) to geostationary orbit (GEO) and cislunar space.

Phase Four’s multi-mode capability expands Rangers rapid maneuvering for responsive missions with efficient station-keeping and phasing and simplifies refueling by using a single propellant. This added agility supports faster response times, more versatile mission profiles, and longer-duration presence in orbit, capabilities that are increasingly critical for defense, scientific exploration, and commercial infrastructure.
The newly acquired Los Angeles facility positions Quantum Space in a central hub of the nation’s space industrial base - just minutes from Space Systems Command. This cutting-edge facility includes a large high-bay integration area, advanced environmental test chambers, machine shops, clean room, and a mission development laboratory. This will accelerate the rapid development and expansion of Quantum Space’s propulsion technologies and Ranger fleet.
